On 28 & 29 October 2017, WordPress Meetup Singapore held WordCamp Singapore for the third time at Suntec City Convention Center, Singapore. WordCamp is a casual and relax conference covering everything related to WordPress, an open source software that powers more than 75 million websites worldwide. The event was attended by more than 240 locals and foreign participants such as Greece, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and many others.
This time, WordCamp Singapore involved 2 different sessions, Conference Day and Contributor & Workshop Day. Conference Day is a one-day session which talks about WordPress. It was delivered by the invited speakers. This session offered 3 great rooms for 2 tracks of talks delivered by 20 different speakers (12 speakers are from all around the world and 8 speakers are locals). Our trainer, Sam was also selected to present a talk on mobile applications. His fascinating topic, ‘Building your first Mobile Application with WordPress backend’ made the participants occupy the room during his session.
On the second day, the Contributor & Workshop Day session was held. This was a day for the community to contribute their knowledge back to the WordPress project. This session didn’t require any experience for participants to join but it expects participants’ commitment to keeping WordPress growing in the existing community. This was the first time for WordCamp Singapore to run 2 workshops in their past.
